Tuesday was a beautiful day. I met Hans Langseth, an award-winning woodcarver who lives in Minneiska (Minnesota) and the great grandson of Hans Langseth, who gets the credit from the folks at Guinness (the record-keepeers, not the beer makers) for having the world’s longest beard. You know it’s going to be a great day when [...] I’ve been in a funk. Work has been slow, and book signings and sales have been sluggish since winter started. With a lot of free time on my hands, I’ve been working on adding content to MississippiValleyTraveler.com, cleaning up some aesthetic issues, and kicking off a marketing effort. The work has been tedious and time [...] I’m in La Crosse for an hour or so to catch up on some notes before driving another hour to meet up with friends. This being the first weekend of OktoberFest, the streets are packed with people walking from the Fest grounds to the downtown bars (and back).
